HELP ME PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE
« on: 15 September 2017, 13:45 »
OK so i have purchased but not got yet a Mk7 GTD Apr 2017 registered

can someone PLEASE tell me the standard spec ????????

The owner had a cherish plate so nobody seems capable of telling me the spec neither at VW or Arnold Clark (hangs head in shame) where i have bought it from

Can anyone help me ?

It has heated seats, it has red calipers and sounds like a GTI so will hazard a guess thats the Sound and Sport pack its had fitted but noone has a definitive answer so far VW have sent me 2 completely different spec sheets :(

Much appreciated peeps jen x

If its a GTD and has the red calipers it sounds like it has the Sport & Sound pack. Either that or someone has just painted the calipers.
If you put it into Sport mode you should hear the exhaust change to more of a growl. Pretty impressive for a diesel.
That is an added extra.

If its got heated seats then it has the winter pack. I can't remember if VW added this as standard to later GTI/D's as they had it as standard for a while.
VW's get heated seats as standard on leather.

If you can get the manual or the car you should find a sticker with all the 3 digit codes it has then put them in a site like this http://vag-codes.info/ and that will tell you what your car has.
HIS: R 5dr DSG Lapiz: Tech Pack: Keyless: 90% Tints: Pretorias: Rear View Camera
HERS:  GTI 5dr Manual DBP: Parking Pack: Car-Net App: 90% Privacy Glass. Ordered 05-12-15. Delivered 03-03-16
DONATED TO SON:  GTD 5dr Manual White: Nav Pro: Dynaudio: Winter Pack: Sport & Sound Pack: Rear View Camera: Park Assist. Ordered 19-02-14. Delivered: 07-06-14

Thanks .......sorry for my panic ridden subject line ...........dealing with Arnold Clark is like poking a fire with a chocolate stick

They cant tell me, VW cant give me a straight answer and so i thought hey the lads n lassies on here will know their stuff they can help

Sport & Sound it defo has it purrs like a big cat  ive came from a Type R to a Cooper SD to this........i need my bubble sound!
Winter Pack cant be sure although it has heated jets and side mirrors - I am assuming thats winter pack ?
Has Discover Nav - i am assuming this is the basic sat nav ?
Radio Standard on 1 spec sheet and then DAB on another - i would have thought DAB was a standard install christ even Hyundai does that as standard i believe

Im just very very excited but also very very nervous as never ever have i bought away from a main dealer and NEVER from Arnold Clark, but it seems they have bought up nearly all the garages in my area my nearest VW dealership is Fife or Perthshire

Thanks for your help guys and again sorry for the panic

Welcome Jeni R who doesn't have an R.

You should have an R with a user name like that!

I had (all too briefly) a standard spec late model GTD (pre facelift) and the standard spec is pretty comprehensive and includes winter pack (heated seats etc), nav (the basic nav is fine and has bluetooth and DAB, the bigger nav is better and has hard drive etc), keyless if it's a five door and as above it sounds very much like yours has Sport & Sound which is a bonus.
If it has chrome surrounds on the door speakers then it'll have Dynaudio; and other things like rear camera could possibly be hidden in the spec and you won't know until you select reverse. If there are additional parking sensors on the sides of the bumpers it'll have the park pack too which is a nifty gimmick.

Yes, indeed, welcome to VW and VW's hit and miss customer service. You've done the right thing coming on here as the info will be far more reliable than what you'd get from VW UK.

Hi Exonian

Many thanks for this .....my surname begins with R :)

It has the parking sensors on the bumper front and rear and when i was reversing pretty sure it came up on the screen....i was more taken with trying not to reach for a non existent hand brake and looking like a t*t :) :)

It is a 5 door and does say keyless entry on the spec sheet but im dubious of that sheet of paper so far !

Many thanks again.............the mini forum i was on was fairly useless i think i still await a response to my EGR fault query i asked 18 months ago and since sorted out myself so grateful of a very active forum and responses from you all

thanks again

Jen

You're in much better hands here as we're a far more of a renegade bunch of busybodies!!

I had a Cooper SD myself for a very brief tenure while my GTD was in gestation, plus I have a Cooper D in the family so I'm familiar with the vacuum of Mini Forums.
Considering every trip out I make I see about three million Minis, none of them seem to be forum type people. Maybe they frequent 'small dog' forums instead?!

Parking sensors and xenons with cornering lights are standard on all mk7 GTD's. The self parking option is quite rare but occasionally very useful. Being as you said the alloys were kerbed by a previous keeper in another thread then I doubt that option is fitted  :lipsrsealed:

Heated seats and Nav are standard as is keyless if it is a 5 door. Sport and sound pack is very nice to have on a GTD and the difference is red brake callipers and no rear exhaust box.

Welcome to the forum and don't be afraid to ask questions. Friendly bunch here and you'll always get answers to your questions and if you ask a question about detailing then you will get a long and detailed answer from Booth11(Rebecca)
