With pro you can also disable gesture control...

Being serious, the voice controls actually work a lot better than the old Pro did. Whilst Android auto also features voice control, the built-in one does it without a data connection and can control things beyond phone and navigation.

Dont know if this is true, but I heard the Pro is the only one that enables you to use the Navigation map mode in the new electronic digital dash display at the same time as having it on the Pro head unit. I think the non pro can do only one or the other (probably due to system memory or processor speed).

Not sure if that's important to you ?

Stick with the standard Discover Nav and spec Dynaudio and save yourself £775.
What the Nav Pro does extra imo just isn't worth all that extra cash whereas if you like your music £550 on the Dynaudio is a no brainer !!  First tick on the options list on my last four VW's and the first tick if I have another one too 👍

I've only got the standard unit it my 7.5 GTI and it's probably the best standard head unit I've ever come across.

The touch screen is really good. The touch and scroll responsiveness is more like an iPad than a clunky car radio. I haven't seen a pro in the flesh to compare but I'm happy with my choice.

Also remember the standard has 2 physical dials for volume and scrolling which are much easier to grab when you're trying to concentrate on the road too.

But there are buttons on the steering wheel that do volume and scroll

Does anyone know the pixel size for the mk7.5 discovery (non pro) screen?

ok thanks for the in-put.

The spec I'm looking at is:

Estate
Oryx White
Up rated sound
Rear cam
Black mirrors and bars
Heated front screen

Think I'll save some cash and leave the standard head unit
BW3 2018... 7.5 Oryx White R Estate, Black mirrors and rails, Dynaudio, Rear Cam, Climate Screen, 90% tints

Have normal white, its only white. In fact have purple, its free.
Dynaudio, well, it already makes a sound and unless you've heard them side by side, you won't notice the difference.
Rear cam? It comes with mirrors
Black mirrors? They still do the same thing.
Heated from screen? It comes with a heater.

What I'm saying is that all of the "extras" are questionable.... your car does them all already.
