Tough time ahead
« on: 30 August 2017, 22:23 »
So finally it's time to prepare to say goodbye to our trusty Edition 30 after nearly 10 years. Apart from one broken spring, it's been great. Now we've ordered its replacement, (one of these new fangled performance pack do-das) here are the things I am not looking forward to:

1) Trying to ignore talk about specs and colour for 3 months till it arrives. I've chosen.... Let it go!
2) Waking up at 3AM thinking I'd forgotten to order wheels or a steering wheel or something else important.
3) Trying to ignore anyone who claims they got a better discount
4) Trying not to crash the current car in the next 3 months to keep the P/Ex
5) Getting the new car and suddenly caring once again when it gets a bit dirty, or worrying about where it gets parked.
6) Saying goodbye to confident assertions of my right of way once the vehicle I'm in costs more than the average again.

Still. I guess we'll cope!

Funnily enough I recently sold my mark 5 after 10 years ownership.

If you have the time, I found the classified section of this forum a good way to sell and smashed the vw part ex price.
2017 GTi Clubsport arrived June 2017
2007 Shadow Blue GTi, sold on after 10 years ownership

You'll be doing well to get it in 3 months! I would prepare for a longer wait than that unfortunately. Not wanting to p4ss on your chips or anything

Quite simple. 5D DSG Pure white +Dynaudio/DLA.

So much is standard on the car compared with 10 years ago, where satnav, xenons, folding mirrors, heated seats, 18" wheels etc. were options.
