If it's the wet dsg 6 then isn't it the dq500? The dry 6dsg is the one that it is only rated upto 350nm. Mk7 gtd puts out anywhere from 350 to 380nm depending on what website you look at.

Does anybody have definitive information as to the final gearing between 6 & 7 speed DSG?

I'm interested if they are:

*  The same ratio in top i.e 7 speed has 1 more in the range to give closer ratios, or,
* A higher ratio for the 7 speed i.e. an overdrive ratio

Where's Daz Auto when you need him.

Ran out of petrol on the motorway.

Feck you Joe, I've just spit beer on my phone and the nice alcantara case I got for it yesterday so thanks.

Wikipedia to the rescue -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct-shift_gearbox

DQ200 7speed 250Nm Dry
DQ250 6speed 400Nm Wet
DQ381 7speed 420-430Nm Wet

As for the ratios I only have information from a user on Audi forum about the facelift S3. He did a graph showing that gears 1-6 are slightly shorter and gear 7 is longer and acts like an overdrive.

Someone recently pointed out to me that VW uses different ratios with different engines. They posted a link to prove it.

It was the dq500 box that was in the Tiguan I had. Quite a discussion on the Tiguan owners forum about it as dealers didn't have a clue

Interesting about the Ratio! I think my first gear is "shorter"  the DQ251, so it seems right!

I have 1700rpm when 100kph.. . Some help?

I checked today - at a level 60mpg the rpm was just over the 1500rpm mark. I would estimate it was 1600rpm.

If you have bigger wheels then you should have lower profile tyres which will have the same radius as 18" tyres.
