Pressed Plates - best way to fix to vehicle

I never said the plates weren't legal.

If I wanted a set like that I would go for it as they seem very good quality with positive reviews, but as I work for a company that supplies plates in the UK I was commenting from a DVLA Legal point of view, and my first comment was because some indicated that you may be able to turn up and pick them up from suppliers when this is (but shouldn't be) the case (if they are following DVLA and police guidelines).

I'm going to get my pressed plates from Europl8 tomorrow night after work and I must say the customer service/communication so far has been excellent. Looking forward to seeing them on the car now!

@greencode and @booth have you got a mount underneath the plates or are they just stuck straight onto the car?

I cant look at what mine has yet as collect tomorrow I do know the rear one is just stuck on the body of the car because shes sitting with 3 shoes off waiting for refurb  i can see that one but cant get to the front as shes behind locked gates

Did you guys have to buy a mount plate to then stick the plates on ?

Sorry if a really stupid question, i havent had pressed plates before and judging by the cost of them  i dont fancy loosing one on the mway !

Also any up to date recommendations on where to purchase i also want a short 6 digit plate, preferably !

I have the original oem plate mount on the front with the pressed plate stuck onto that with 3M foam tape.  As you say, the rear doesn't have any mount as stock, and I didn't want one, so that's stuck straight onto the paint.  I prefer the clean look and kept the mount on the front because it's black and is barely noticeable on a black car so looks pretty tidy.  Pics on page 1 of this thread.

So unless it's been changed, your front will come with a plate mount.

Hi. The rear is stuck directly on the body using the sticky pads that come with the plates. The front one is stuck on to the plastic number plate surround using 3M tape as I thought this would get the brunt of the weather/water and so needed something stronger than the regular sticky pads.

Be aware that if you go for a shorter plate (and assuming you would remove the existing mount as that would look very odd with a short plate), you will most likely see the holes where the mount goes into the bumper, so might need to fill these otherwise they'll be unsightly.

Decided not to get short ones so thats sorted

Personally I wanted a cleaner look which is why I went for the borderless ones
