I don't have a pedal box. However, I have read a lot about them.

My problem is - every time I mention them to an insurance company they don't seem to understand. Then because of the 'performance' modification, they increase my premiums accordingly. Resulting in me deciding it is not worth the extra money. Or the risk of fitting one and giving 'them' an excuse to invalidate my insurance.

Yet pedal boxes seem quite popular. So how do other people manage with insurance? Or do you simply take the attitude - easier to ask for forgiveness rather than permission?

I had no bother at all with my insurer, I explained what it did and that it did not alter the power of the car and they were quite happy. It has been noted but no change to my premium. And it is well worth it with a much better response but as I'm used to it, controlability too. When on the odd occasion it is switched off the car feels dead.

Same here, my tuning box cost me an extra £27 though.

That one seems like the already known directive to dealers since 2013 I think. At least talking about the JB1 there have been warranty claims (for blown engines and turbos) from JB1 users after that directive was out and not one of them got rejected due to "voided warranty". There was an explanation from the guy from Burger Motorsports as to why it is not possible to identify a JB1/4 and hence why no claims have ever been rejected but it's a long time since I read it and it was quite technical. I wouldn't lose any sleep over this.

So it arrived

It took no longer than 5 mins to install if i was doing it again i would removed the little storage compartment near your right knee first as you get a better view and access to the top of the pedal.

Tucked away out of sight

Not had chance to give it a proper test but i can defiantly feel the difference i nearly launched the car off the drive

Ill try and get some videos of how it effects the rev range on each program when i get a chance.

I would be very interested in your findings with this. I have the dtuk box on my car and was thinking of one of these also. Looks very well.

The first few goes until you learn to moderate your right foot can be a bit hairy! Have fun, it makes such a difference.
