Alarm problems
« on: 04 October 2005, 09:06 »
morning all

hope someone can help!

got a Cobra 7928 Cat 1 alarm installed in my MK2.  Everything was fine and dandy until Sunday when it decided that everytime I go to lock the doors it thinks one of them is open and emits a high pitch sound.

The LED indicator remains solid instead of flashing and the only way to stop it is to open the car again  Luckily i can still lock the car with my keys and the immobiliser kicks in after 60 seconds.

Had heavy rain over the weekend so I'm thinking that water has gotten in somewhere and is creating a bad eath / shorting. Another theory i got is that it's stuck in valet mode or something like it.  Unfortunately I've lost me instructions too

If anyone has any ideas what to look for in my lunch hour or has the same alarm and could post up some instructions I'd be very grateful!!

Sorry for the essay!!

Cheers
Rhys

guess I should have bought a more common alarm

anyhoo, thought I'd update as to what the problem was.  thankfully it was something simple - a dodgy switch on the boot!! Got to get a new one but shouldn't cost much!
