I would still go for the 90% with Indium Grey personally. It's safer too if you leave anything under the front seats or in the back.

Can make a 3 door look like a van depending on the colour of the car.

Nail, head, hit!!!

I knew there was a good reason not to go for 90% tints. They can make the rear windows look blacked out compared to the front windows.

I had 90% on a carbon grey mark 6, not for me as just too much contrast when checking rear view mirror and wing mirrors for my liking but its a personal thing.

They also show up the slightest mark and stratch so easy with the rear wiper.

My car has the lesser 65% tint which I wish was a little darker. I guess you could always get an aftermarket tint applied on top as such, all be it a light one. The oem tint + the aftermarket one would probably give a pretty good result

Nothing personal, but I dislike 90%tints so much I'd pay not to have them. Have the opposite effect of
'Cool' on such a cool car. For limousines and gross SUV's only. :sick:

Non taken, we're all different!

I would say yes to 90% on a 3 door and no to them on a 5 door though.

I wouldn't be without them as it keeps the car that bit cooler when we have the dog in the back, plus I personally like the look of the darker windows;

90% Tints will always come down to personal preference.  For me they would look OK if you could legally make the front windows 90% tints as well.  But seeing as it is not possible while staying legal then in my opinion they look a little odd with the stark contrast between front/rear windows.  I would say they do make cars look like vans with dark paint colours (i have personal experience of this with a previous car).  But you may get away with them with a lighter coloured paintwork.

Agree with this. I think it greatly depends on the colour of the car as to whether it can be carried off, and I think 3dr stands the better chance on the whole, but on some the stark difference between the 90% rear and the standard front tints is a little too much.

My order is a 5 door GTi in Indium Grey. At the moment think I will stick with the standard tint.
