In transit
« on: 07 June 2017, 22:08 »
The tracker has just updated to 'in transit', saying that this particular model (GTi) takes an average of 3 weeks to reach the dealer.

Does anyone know how accurate that is? Is there any way I can track it further? How long from it arriving at the dealer is it before I can collect it?

Thanks!

According to the shipping app, 2 ships left tonight for grimbsy and 1 for sheerness, believe it takes 2 ish week from port arrival to collection. My GTD should be on one of these also

It know it slightly sad tracking ships but getting a new car a I feel warrants it , city of Paris and city of Sunderland are to grimbsy and Danube highway to sheerness all from Emden.

Got mine 2 weeks ago. From landing on a Friday night to being at the dealers took a week then it took a further week for it to be ready.

My dealership didnt have anyone to process the car once it arrived to them on a friday as they dont work weekends, they need to clear the finance with VW and can only do that with the chassis number etc This wasnt done unit the following monday. Ready yo collect Friday.

Apparently they will wait until a transporter for your dealership/area is full before sending the transporter.

It took 3 weeks for my car to leave the factory and arrive at the dealership. It arrived at the dealership on the Friday, PDI'd on Monday and I picked it up Tuesday

The dealer for my GTD is in Grimsby (Marshall), build week is next week, so shouldn't be much of a wait when it docks, as the compound is more or less over the road from the dealership

I think as opposed to a VW car model that is built in South Africa or Mexico... the Golf comes from Germany.
Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC
