GTI PP pricing
« on: 04 June 2017, 13:11 »
Has anyone noticed that the GTi PP On The Road pricing on the vw website looks to be wrong?

I know that the first year VED is dependent on CO2 emissions, but the GTi PP (manual) is 150g/km.

According to the DVLA website, the hike of £300 comes at 151g/km.  Yet when you look at VW's breakdown on their price list they include £300 more (£1,155 versus £855) for all OTR costs on the GTi PP manual.

Ironically, in the price list somewhere else, it correctly states that the 1st yr VED is £200, even with bigger wheels)

I know the vw website has a few 'accuracy issues', but one to watch out for when buying a PP manual, and perhaps one to bring up with dealer.

Further proof of this error is that the DSG version of the PP has a £1,070 uplift over a DSG non-PP, whereas manual is £1,370).  In addition, the drivethedeal website shows a (correct) OTR price of manual of £29,675.

It's too many numbers to look at on my phone screen to go through it all, but from what I can tell on the Configurator the manual PP 245 5 door is £29935 and the DSG is £31105.
Going by the price list PDF on page 5 which is hard to read on my phone even zooming in as it wants to go all over the place the prices look to be the same as the configurator for the 245bhp model.
Some options are still TBA as far as tax is concerned on the PDF too.

Orangewheels is quoting £29635 as opposed to DTD's £29675 you quote.

So, pick a number out of a hat and hope for the best...

What got me was the £800 first year pothole CO2 tax for the R manual! Jesus wept!

Actually you're right - I did make a small error (ironic, given the title of my thread) when quoting DtD- it is also £29,635.  So that's another £40 to some sort of optional extra (actually no, still comes to £300 saving vs VW web details)

I did see the vw price list and website were consistent(ly wrong) but the breakdown of the OTR/VED charges did not add up to the £1,155 they quote in the price list.
