Entertainment Fading no longer works

Anyone had this problem before, seems my entertainment fading reset itself to off at some stage and whenever I set a value this makes no difference and the music does not fade when in reverse. It also seems to reset back to off randomly when switching the engine off/on?

[I wanted a GTi]

Yes it is one of the smaller issues I have with my unit and car in general.
