Still at Emden.
« on: 15 May 2017, 12:52 »
So, my car has been sat at Emden waiting for a boat since last Friday. What are people's experience of the time this stage takes?

Naturally I'm keen to get my hands on it asap.

My Mk7 GTD was sat on the docks for nearly three weeks before shipping.

I was sent the next stage update (ready for shipping) to find it had landed in the UK!

Yes, waiting for a ship is the least predictable, and possibly one of the longest stages in the whole process! I was told it could be up to 3 weeks, so you could have another week or so yet. I think you can trace which ship your car is on and when it sails, but not sure how you find out.

My 7.5 was built a week earlier than the 'confirmed' build week (bonus) but then waited over two weeks to be allocated a ship.

Once it arrived in the UK it was at the dealers in 3 days.

Sadly, without its fog lights it was to be turned down so now I'm back in the queue with a potential early July delivery  :undecided:

Thanks for the replies. It reminds of being 5yrs old on Xmas eve.
I've been on the live chat and all they can advise is that no ship has yet been allocated.

I can take some comfort in the fact that it has fog lights I suppose.
