I have one of these fitted to my CS, good upgrade for the price...

Very interested in the 034 insert's effect on the Clubsport. It was in my list prior to picking up the car. Then it felt so good that I forgot about it and even went up to 350+ bhp without feeling that I needed to strengthen the mount. How and by how much did it change the shifting feel for you? Also do you run more power than stock?

I'm running a REVO stage 1 on the 99 ron fuel map so I'm at about 370bhp and felt it needed a bit more support at the bottom end. Helps reduce wheel hop when setting off and all feels a bit more connected and less flobbery. Very slight increase in engine vibration through the transmission but nothing to worry about, I'd recommend one to anyone with a tuned GTI or R.

I too was thinking about the 034 for my CS as I had one on my previous GTI and it cured a notchy 2nd gear but it also felt much more positive with the 034 and to be honest as scanesare stated the CS feels more solid (less loose) than the standard GTI, which made me think the CS has upgraded engine mounts / dogbone. Surely the more positive feeling of the CS cannot just be as a result of upgraded springs!! Good to hear it made a difference to your CS RALEIGH.

RWLEIGH, is yours a manual or DSG?

Mine's a manual but REVO do a map with that in mind as they say on their site, see quote below.

"As vehicles are available with either a manual or DSG gearbox. Revo stage 1 software is available in 2 formats, low boost for manual gearboxes and a high boost for DSG and manual gearboxes with uprated clutches. The peak performance stays the same, however in the low boost software option our calibration engineers have been able to use torque management to limit boost at lower RPM before raising it to the same level as the high boost option. Offering protection of the stock clutch to help avoid slipping and reduce wear."

Thanks rwleigh. Any protest from the clutch, in the higher gears?

Non at all, I had it mapped at 1k and it's now done 3k with no issues what so ever...

Good to hear. Although how much is that slight increase in vibration is a bit subjective as I have found with previous mounts. Maybe in the future I could go down that way.

All great comments and suggestions - thanks everyone.

I am collecting my CSS tomorrow from VW, no fault found - so I guess it is just down to the gearbox shift action bedding in. I will most certainly look at the uprated clutch and suggested inserts too.

Do Awesome GTi fit the 034 insert, or is it a DIY possible job?

No, they send it to you in the post.

You need a good jack (preferably axle stands), a breaker bar and a torque wrench...

If you do a search on the "other" Mk7 forum, there is loads of info about the 034 insert - fitting and experience. It's a very popular mod over there.
