I think it has to be in the UK before they can register it.

I got mine about 10 days before I picked the car up.

After its built, it goes into a giant car park waiting for transporters to take it to the port.

Then it sits at the port in Germany before being loaded.

Then it takes 2 days to reach the UK.

Then it takes at least 2 days to clear and the dealer to pick it up.

Then it takes the dealer typically a week to sort out registration, PDI and grind dirt into your paintwork to achieve maximum swirls.

I'd say you are looking at at least 4 weeks after its built before you see it.

4weeks, i can live with that. but no swirl marks   i'm going to ask them to take it to a detailer down the road  (about 1/2 to 1mile away from dealer) to have a ceramic coat put on.

I doubt they'd take it, but you can ask them to leave it totally alone and take it yourself

Is it standard practice to tell the dealer to leave it well alone? - as in, absolutely do nothing to the paintwork?

for the record, mine was scheduled to be built from two days ago, but hasn't updated online yet. I'm guessing it will suddenly change status next week and jump to 'in transit'.

Yes you can tell them to leave it alone, leave all the transit wrappings on it for you to remove.

Build week confirmed for week 44.  Ordered end of August.

Mine also ordered end of August. No build date yet. What's the secret?

Mine has been in transit on the app for a week, hope it’s on the same boat (slightly wishful thinking as it was build week 09/10 and only moved to in transit last Saturday). I guess I’ll find out soon!

Mine is due build this week but the app is still at stage 3 build week planned for week comm 16 Oct

How quickly should it update if it built this week.

it should change to build in progress (section 4) on sunday and then 3-4 days later to in transit.
