I will also be collecting my GTI PP on 2nd September! Might see a couple of you lads there at this rate!

Is there any truth to the fact that JCB Medway Kent (the dealer for Drive the Deal), will reimburse you the costs for travelling to them to collect the car (instead of opting for home delivery)?

Not sure about other people, but for me it was simply because I am at work on the Friday

Everybody and their dog will be queuing at 9:00 on the 1st Sept for their new plate.

Best wait a couple of days and it'll be a better handover experience with more time and space to check the car.
On order: 7.5 230 PS, 3 door, DSG.  Pearl black with heated screen, Dynaudio & reverse camera.

Ordered my GTI Performance on 25 July.
Just been informed the provisional build date is 16 October. I was then asked what model and colour I had ordered to then be told the build week is likely to be earlier but cannot confirm that will definitely be the case.
Anyone know if colour and model impact on build dates. My car will be Tornado Red.

Build timescales can be affected by the options specified - although availability of certain options would be more likely to delay build, rather than bring the build date forward. A few years back when the mk6 was the current model, there were issues with the supply of DSG gearboxes and rear view cameras that delayed the build of some customers cars.

I don't know if colour has any impact on build dates but I'm assuming that car bodies are painted in batches of the same colour. So it could be that your car has been slotted into an earlier (than originally planned) batch of Tornado Red cars; I assume this is more likely if your car is standard spec, where build won't be influenced by options availability from VW's suppliers.

Hopefully I will have mine driven delivered on the 8th. Hate the thought of that but needs must and all that. Apparently it will be before midday as the guys like to get home at a reasonable time........

And I just wait for the speeding tickets in the post 😂😂

I'm James' 10am appointment on the Saturday, how about you?

I'm collecting on the 2nd as James was fully booked already for the 1st.  Not bothered as the Saturday train tickets from East Yorkshire down to London then on to Gillingham are much cheaper and I don't need the day off either
MK7.5 Golf GTI in Isaac Blue with Performance Pack, 19" Brescia's, Dynaudio, Reversing Camera & Climate Screen, ordered 16/05/17.  Counting down the days to collection on September 2nd

Haha I am literally 11AM, from the sounds of it James is going to be a busy guy on that day!

For me a friend is luckily giving me a lift, its 100 miles or so from Reading.

This is really useful as I still don't have a build date, but I ordered 14th July.
