My provisional build week has moved forward 1 week to w/c 24/07 now.

If it takes 4 weeks to get to the dealer it's going to be available mid to back end of August.

What's the general consensus in terms of waiting for the new reg in September? I'll be putting a private plate on anyway just wondering if it being a 67 reg would help with residual value?

Ok thanks. So it's going to be better in the long run to wait for the new reg.

I've never bought a brand new car before. Are the dealers usually flexible in that they'll keep hold of the car for a couple of weeks if it arrives just before the new reg dates?

Yes they don't mind, they kept my car from January till March.

Two and a half weeks after ordering and the tracker still doesn't recognise my order.  Dealer says all is well and it's a problem with the tracker.

Fewie - its a phew from me too.  I ordered on 13th May and got my order number 2 days later, but like you the tracker doesn't recognise my order. Was thinking I'll have to put a chase on it to re-assure myself that the order is actually placed with VW!

I may have the car arrive before September, but it will be registered as a September 67 even though I'm putting some sort of private plate on it as I won't have a car with numbers that add up to 13!
