Seeing my Clubsport tomorrow ..
« on: 10 March 2017, 22:34 »
Madness I know but I bought my CS just before end of last year and haven't seen it in the flesh yet..

But tomorrow is the day !  Won't be getting it collected for a couple of weeks but am really looking forward to actually seeing the car.

It was so close to my perfect spec it was the one I had to have rather than wait a few months for maybe the right car to come up ex demo.

Spec for those interested is

Tornado red with black roof.
3 door manual
Adaptive chassis control
Clubsport bucket seats
19 inch brescias
Winter pack
Car net

Pretty close to the perfect spec I think you will agree !

Will try and get a few pics tomorrow

Nice spec. Tornado Red really suits the Clubsport IMO.

Look forward to seeing the pictures!

You must me excited.

I think the red paint against the black bits on the car make it pop, it does look stunning in red and think it suits the CS(S) to a T...

Nice spec and look forward to the pics.

Why may I ask are you waiting..? summer..?

Never thought I'd say this as I really don't care for white GTI's, but having seen an Oryx White CS in the flesh at Inchape Bolton last week, that would be the only colour for me

If it's still there and you can afford one. just go and buy it!!

They also had a red ( sold ) one and it looked nothing in comparison. It didn't help that the red one had black wheels and looked very plain and ordinary. Just my opinion obviously.

They really are fantastic cars and are the sweet spot in the entire Golf range.

Can't see the point in the CSS with it having only two seats and the R isn't badged as a GTI.

There's a new white Clubsport that's been sat at my local dealership in Jersey for a while.

Has a number of options but no buckets. I can get some further info if anyone is keen.

Firstly, no its not for sale !  I anticipate this will be a long term keeper for me if it lives up to expectation.

Well I saw "my" car today, happily under cover in the workshop where it has been stored up on ramps for 2 months !

What can I say - wow.  Pics don't really do the CS justice.  For what is lets face it "just a golf" I think its one of the best looking standard, non exotic cars I have seen.

Was really impressed with the look, love the red with the black parts of the CS too.  I don't mind white but there are just too many white CS's around - dealer said mine is the only red one they have sold.  It just has that little bit more than the std gti in terms of presence and looks totally different to the R.

Best triumph though is the interior - fantastic.  Those seats, god those seats are fantastic.  SO perfect in terms of side support yet comfy and wide enough not to feel cramped.  Access to the back isn't great but hey ho.  The alcantara wheel is a thing of beauty too.  Amazed at how a few little things have just lifted the interior of the car so much - its genuinely feels "special" and unique.

Really interesting insight from the dealer - they have sold quite a few clubbies and have 2 left in stock, both ok spec but no buckets - they aren't shifting.  He said they have had many calls, the first question is always always "do they have the bucket seats" and pretty much everyone has walked away so I would guess it will be a super desirable option on the used market.   I am sure they will sell at the right price but I am glad I ticked that box, they really are fantastic seats.

So I am genuinely impressed from what I have seen I didn't think a golf would feel special really but it does - and that is before I have driven it, so here is hoping its the start of a long lasting relationship !!

All the dynamic indicators and gesture control in the world that comes with the mk 7.5 cant change the fact that this feels like a genuinely special car thanks to some unique options.

Will post a few pics I took when I get a minute
