A purple GTI with Parker alloys......you clearly haven't given any thought to it's resale value

As I said earlier, if they had offered purple as a paid for colour choice that's one thing, but to make it the only "free" colour suggests that they really want to encourage most people to spend more money on something else...

Current: Mk8 GTI DSG, Adelaides, DCC, HUD, HK, Winter Pack, Rear Camera.. Aka "HMS Weasel"

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro
Gone: 2014 Mk7 GTD, manual, NavPro, DCC

Agreed. There's no reason why they couldn't offer red or white as free colours (like they used to do), apart from the fact that they're both popular so VW would make less money.

they have a black ruben at crewe (inside), tbh inside it's not too bad but once the sun hits it it goes very purple looking, too purple looking imho.  it's more of a ladies color i think and she did like it.. i'm trying to figure out why the stopped the carbon grey as i think it looks a lot better than the new indium grey.

I was never really that taken by carbon grey, it was just too dark for my tastes and I also didn't really like the green tinge it had. Isaac blue is the new GTi/GTD exclusive colour and is much more to my taste. It's similar to Blue graphite from the Mk5, only perhaps slightly more grey looking.

Indium grey has replaced Limestone grey. One of the reasons I didn't end up with a Mk7 originally was that I struggled to settle on a colour I liked, all the metallic colours just looked drab. In my view Carbon and Limestone were the best of a bad bunch.

Isaac Blue looks very green in a lot of the images I've seen, even more so than Carbon grey.
It is a good colour though to be fair.

Called into a dealer today. Had a white silver basic model Golf outside, looked terrible which was disappointing as previously I reckoned it would look good. Had an Indium Grey GTD outside which looked pretty good.

In the showroom was a dark blue GTD. There were no sales staff free so didn't get to ask the colour name. Was close to night blue so I'm assuming it was Atlantic Blue maybe. Looked pretty nice but maybe a bit hard to keep swirl free. Would it have been Isaac blue or is it lighter than I describe?

Based on what I saw today I would say Indium or Atlantic would be my choice. Maybe Indium on a GTi as the red lines might look better against grey than the blue.

Indium is a great choice for a GTI, very classy looking and shouldn't show the dirt like Carbon Grey.
