2012 red ring clocks
« on: 22 February 2017, 19:15 »
Hi,I'm looking at getting a gti,and would like to know what the difference is in the clocks, as some have a red ring round the outside of the speedo and rev counter and some don't....

Was there a date these were introduced ?

Any advantages ?

I believe it was for the 2013 models. Mine is a 62 plate (13 model) and has the red rings. Also, the redline is higher, from around 6500 to 6700

Correction: redline at 6800 rpm

The car in Snoopy's link has a lower redline at 6000rpm.
