The sooner they redesign the DSG box with three settings the better:

Current D - to become 'E' (ecconomy mode)

A new midway setting with gear change points set half way between the current S and D settings: D

S: Sport remains as is.

In the meantime just stop looking at the gear change indicator - few other brands of car have that and just say D so you don't really know what gear has been selected.

Totally agree, Eco actually feels like driving an old slushmatic auto

My wife never uses manual and this is why i think her rear discs and pads have been replaced after 20K

I also think investing in a set of S2T paddles improves the DSG experience

I hope you don't mean bus or truck driver!!

LOL no mate, spent several weeks on advanced driving courses paid for by HM. After left the job I also completed ADI part 2 (driving instructors test) and got a very rare fault free mark (bighead lol).

People on the Audi forum are reporting that the all new 7-speed wet clutch in the S3 is an improvement.

After 24 years driving a manual - it took me a long time to figure out how to avoid the unwanted DSG gear changes. I was also not impressed when trying to overtake. Now I find myself using the paddles to overtake, without even thinking about it.

I have driven both the S3 facelift and the current R DSG and must admit the S3 felt so much better through the gears. The R felt a bit jerkier and not as slick.
