It was power initially. Android Auto and Car Play had to be plugged in, they didn't support wireless, it wasn't VW doing anything to hamper it. Both apps now do support it. The tricky factor is the car manufacturer bothering to update their in car software. Should be done over the air, not when you take it in for a service.

I think I may well try an SD card. Added benefit in that it frees up the USB for other uses.
Any thoughts on brand, size etc ?

App-connect is a bag of sh!te. Who wants to get into a car and start messing about plugging cables into phones?
I agree that when it works it's awesome though

Interesting.

I wonder if VW ever will release a MIB2 software update for that. I suspect not. I mean, why would they want to let you have something like that for free...

Probably works on MIB3 out of the box. Its probably its key feature!

Anything up to 128gb, class 10 if you want some speed when copying gb's of music over and as for brand, whatever really - if you are buying Sandisk though (which is a premium brand), make sure you buy it from a reputable source (eg Amazon themselves, not a "market place" seller) as Sandisk cards are faked like crazy. You pay for quality and get cheap chinese knockoffs!

Hi Kalimon

I have just bought an SD card, and its better than a usb stick IMO, and I know that we all shop around but I bought this one

https://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDXC/Lexar/Lexar-128GB-Premium-II-300x-SDXC-UHS-I-U1-Card-Class-10

and it works great, fast enough for me when transferring music over, but there are probably better brands out there but its doing the job for me and I thought it was a good price for the size of card, if you look around on the net I'm sure there will be a discount code to knock a bit more off as well

Does anyone know why some music sounds better and much higher volume when playing over Bluetooth? I noticed it when I had a GTD from the dealers, everything was being played from Apple Music that had the music downloaded onto the phone. Iphone 7+ running iOS 10.2
