I like the BBS XA and AEZ Raise wheels, have a bit of the Santiago about them  plus the angular look is more in-keeping with the MK7 design in my eye. Very modern.

Managed to hit a pothole on my 19" BBS SR's - blew a front tyre and a tiny nick out of the alloy.

Without putting a curse on it, they look to have stood up well with no buckle/structural damage. Just waiting for a tyre to arrive - luckily got a full size spare.

Lowered as well which doesn't help lol.

A month ago I drove a GTI and GTD back to back and both hit a bit of cracked Tarmac with a sharp crash from the suspension which my R drove over with just a dull thud.
I told my dealer that the standard GTI/GTD suspension was too firm for the terrible roads we drive. He told me that the Golf R seemed to have more forgiving suspension. The Golf R must have a different suspension setup.

However, I don't want a test drive in a Golf R as it may change my mind about getting a GTI PP :undecided:

So I bit the bullet a bought a set of 18" BBS SR alloys with Goodyear F1 3's from Wheelbase Alloys. Wheels turned up in a couple of days and I had them fitted yesterday.
They are a lot easier to clean than the 19" Santiagos and I have coated them in Gtecniq C5 to help with cleaning.

So far the ride seems much better than the Santiagos though not hit any potholes yet, touchwood.
They do show up my rusty brake discs more so need to get that sorted soon, and probably look better with lowered suspension but don't think I'll go down that route.

so far pretty please though

Looking nice and they really suit the white car. What are you going to do with your 19"?

Nice wheels. BBS SR's really suit the mk7 and the anthracite wheels / white paintwork is a nice contrast.

Thanks, going to keep the Santi's. They do need a refurb as each wheel has various degrees of minor damage. I think when the time comes to sell or part ex it would be easier with oem wheels.

Might use the Santiagos as a summer wheel eventually.

I like the close up in the first pic, very nice indeed and makes me even more eager to get mine fitted.
