Clubsport S Spec - South Africa RHD
« on: 06 January 2017, 16:54 »
So, this is getting even more confusing..

VW have built 47 cars in RHD for South Africa, which (my friend just got one out there) has come with the black roof and wheels.

So, why build 47 RHD cars with the black roof (like the LHD cars), and then 150 specifically without?
This more and more looks like a VW UK cock-up to me..

I got a black car by sheer luck, but if I got the red I wanted without the black roof, I'd be very annoyed.

That looks far better imho.  I think the spec is determined by each importer.  VWUK fleece us unfortunately.  The black roof for the standard CS in Germany was free of charge I believe, but here it was nearly £300.  Another example is pure white paint which is foc there but not here.

All this fuss over a black roof and black wheels
At least the black cars have a black roof.

I'm getting the front end ppf film covered, was thinking of getting the roof done as well but now im thinking may be i should get the roof wrapped gloss black. TBH im extremely happy with my CSS as it is, but i could protect the roof with a black wrap and remove it if im not happy in the future. What are peoples thoughts on this?

Black roof all the way.  It looks better, more sporty, it's removable and you get your protection.  No brainer if it were me!

On the other hand I do like limited/special editions to stay within the OEM spec and the only UK option was air con.  Mmmmmm.
