I spoke to the bloke who's selling it , He said the reason it's up for grabs is that he got hold of an S3 ( stolen recovered) as he wanted the gearbox from it (his old one had a hole knocked in the bellhousing when it apparently hit a kerb )  but being that the engine out of it had only done @ 7,000 he thought he might as well swap the engine as well .
I was thinking of bidding on it but unfortunately reality kicked in  , shame really as he's just up the road from me and the old Vento deserves more oomph as it's a bit of a 'Sheep in Wolfs clothing' at the mo .

I must admit it's very tempting but :

1]  I've just had the 020 (16v) gearbox on the Vento rebuilt and I'm not sure wether it would cope even though it's had the diff bolted  and I'd think it would need  LSD ( or maybe I do  ) Or sshould I try and sell it as it's only done a few hundred mile and get a cable change ?
2]  Can the BAM engine be converted to a cable operated throttle ( throtttle body from AGU ? )
3]  What downpipe and cat to use being that the pics show twins.
4]   My 3 kids would cack themselves as it would be kin difficult to keep off the loud pedal  ( although I could try an persuade them to wear Pampers again 8 ,11 and 13  NOT  )
