yeah crunching sound is normally the sound of the clips failing! Get it done to your local stealers and get it fixed!

Well i visited the vw dealaship today and they said they can book me in for it underwarrenty and if its broke it free.

But if its not broke its 58 quid.

Thing is i have 20 miles left untill 90k and this probley really has not happend to me yet. So i am in the sh!t lol.

So i have left it. If worse comes to it i buy the kit of some site and do it me self.

just push down on the glass and break it   shouldn't take too much effort if its crunching already.

though a safer way may just be to sit and move the window up and down; it will eventually give way!!

Just to let everyone know that you can still get the Window Regulator Repair Kit from the dealer if you request it.  It is not necessary to buy the whole panel section for £80.00 when you can still get the repair kit for £32.00.

I got the kit last week and had it fitted to my front passenger door.
Turbocharged and liking it...

Snap (I bought mine on Sat) and another one done (Yesterday) with the asstance of the thread :-) Thanks guys.  VW Couldn't confirm if it could be done under warranty as I dont have the service history for the car so ended up doing it myself

Any chance of uploading the pictures again, I can only see white squares with red crosses. Planning to fix mine this weekend so if you could that would be great!

i find the weight of the window and the aggresive nature of the windows dropping fully is the main culprit(also attempting to lower windows when frozen!!!)......ive found i never fully lower my windows always leave bout 1" showing and this seems fine!...........try lowering the window fully and listen to the clunk and u can see why over time the flimsy plastic clips would break!!!
