Volkswizard: Someone will flip if they can, but for a VW dealership to do it is unethical in my book. You don't expect opportunism overpricing from the official/sole outlet network for a product.
Is the availability of this product allocation down to a lack of demand? If so, i'm sure we'll see these asking prices soften - asking price and selling price are 2 different things. At some point, without a punter, the dealership will have to register the car and it'll no longer be new.
You are missing my point, suppose the car IS registered to a punter who has decided to flip.
No VW dealer should have ordered without a customer name, some have lost their allocation trying to cheat this.
If this car is unregistered then I agree that's wrong but if the private owner wants out and offers it to the supplying dealer who they have used for years I honestly can't see the harm in it.
If the dealer offers them £32k and sells for £33995 and that buyer flips it for £45k is that really a better solution?
The buyer may have lost his job and need to sell and the dealer has to value it at the market rate or risk being criticised for not doing so
