Going to change the fronts on Thursday to continental contisport 5p, don't like these slick tyres in this wet and most of the roads with a film of mud on them, keep them for summer use or sell them on, may change the backs also but they should be ok.
Did anybody else made the change.

Personally I'd change all four given the differential in performance and operating temps as they are not exactly like for like

I agree, you would be crazy to just change the fronts. On any kind of corner your new tyre at the front will grip and the rears will potentially let go.

Just get a set of 18" wheels and put winter on them, that way you have the right tyres for the 2 halfs of the year. Proper summer tyres for April to September and winter from October to.... whenever.

Putting high performance summer tyres like continue 5's and having cup 2s seem a little too close in design.

If I had one, I'd be taking the original tyres off and keeping them in storage. They are part of the cars provenance. I saw an RS1600i at a show a few years ago, and he had a set of wheels with the original Dunlop D4 tyres just for show purposes. I see the CS S been similar to the RS1600i, so even if you don't plan on keeping the car, you will be doing your bit to help owners down the line who might want to pamper it.

I am just driving mine all the time. 3000 miles now.

3000 miles already, and every one of them enjoyable I bet. I don't see the point in buying a car like that and not driving it.

I changed to Yokohama 105 tyres. Makes the car more stable but turn in isn't quite as good, quieter and wheel spin is more predictable and less frequent - especially in the cold. Car rides better but doesn't feel as sharp.

The continental tyres are really good, car feels so much better and no wheel spin ,better ride all round as the slicks had reinforced side walls which made the ride a bit harsh. Still running car in,350 miles so far but confidence to give it a bit of gas in the rain has returned.
