Traction on regular Gti...
« on: 12 November 2016, 16:50 »
Today I have been driving a 2016 regular GTi with a manual box on the wet roads of South East England.

The car is shod with 4k mile old Bridgestone's and I am amazed at the traction, in a positive way

Have VW changed something on the later models, I cannot get this thing to break traction or even for the traction control light to flash up on the dash.

If it is dry in the morning, I my jack it up to see if there is drive to the rear and it is a rebadged "R". :)

You're just not flooring it hard enough
I've got Bridgestones on my 2016 GTI PP and because I drive like a pussy, I've never come close to wheel spinning or traction control light lighting up in any weather conditions.
I think that's a good thing  :nerd:

I'm a slow and steady kind of driver  but even I get the traction control lit up now and then  You need to give the pedal a good hard shove now and then!

Thanks for the advice on flooring it...... I am not going say much more on that front as the car is not mine.
I only started this thread as I am genuinely impressed and surprised.
