Well, I finally did it. After wanting one for the best part of 10 years I picked up my mk2 16v gti about two hours ago and i've had to come inside and stop playing with it cos its raining and i've just realised what time it is!ÂÂÂ
Suppose I'd better introduce myself.
My name's Aaron, I'm 28 and currently live in wrexham but have spent most of my formative years in and around the Wigan area.
I have been buying Golf+ and performancevw for years picking up ideas and trying to decide which of Wolfsburgs finest to go for, and, having just driven the 16v back from staffordshire I think i made the right choice! She is awesome.ÂÂÂ
Quick spec list - 1991 H plate 5dr 16v
          - standard - not so much as an aftermarket gear knob...it even has the original cassette player!
          - 128k with FVWSH, every old MOT, every receipt (about 2k worth) and only 3 owners from new
short list eh?
I am really looking forward to getting my hands dirty and having a play ahead of next years shows, and, given that i have never so much as changed a wheel before  :embarassed:  i may well be on here quite alot asking for some advice.
Actually, may as well start now while i'm here.... i want to make sure the car is mechanically sound before i start modifying anything. Any problem areas i should be aware of / look for? Any advice muchly appreciated.
