Rear cage from VW
« on: 02 September 2016, 22:00 »
Somebody said to me that a rear cage could be available from VW through the german R dept?

Any one know if this is rubbish or fact?

Some info which may or may not be worthwhile.

The Clubsport test cars that were captured in many photos at the ring were stickered up with Weichers stickers and had a rear cage.  Weichers is a German brand of strut braces and roll cages, they have a website and do indeed sell a Mk7 rear cage called a club sport which is bolt in.  Not the direct info you are after but thought i would add it to the topic

Possibly means dealer supply only? VW probably own the design/rights and so on.

Anyone know what "H-Brace" is?

Also "Safety belt fitting tube"

I would say its a harness bar, but send them a quick email sure they will reply...

Let us know how you get on,  would love one but not sure I can convince my wife that scaffolding in the back is really the most important thing required in the car.

Would be nice, I could possibly stretch to the CCS rear strut tower brace, but i think that would be my limit.
