I thought sport didn't do anything to the throttle on the GTD, or am I missing something?

Yes, it changes the throttle mapping (like a pedal box)

Well if it does it's hardly noticeable..

I keep mine in Normal on motorway/around town, sport everywhere else.

You don't notice the difference in throttle response? Really?

Is yours manual or DSG?

Gone: 2017 Mk7.5 GTD,manual, NavPro

Manual

I found when I had mine in normal the first few months that after a certain point a lot of the power came at once, whereas in sport, it's a much more progressive power delivery. Difficult to explain I guess but if it was represented on a graph I feel like it would be an upward curve for normal and more of a straight line for sport if that makes any sense.

So I guess from your description you mean normal would be more response at the top end as you press the pedal further down while Sport would be a more linear throttle response than normal with more noticeable response from earlier on when pressing down on the pedal.
