I remember the PDR guy that I use telling me that dent removal on older cars is much more difficult or even impossible. Something to do with the way the panels are made nowadays makes PDR much more feasible.
Yes, indeed, my 20 year old (VW group) car has proper metal panels and my mk7 is made of recycled bean cans.
My old GTI was clipped by an artic a year or so ago (whilst parked up) and just has a small dent in the front wing and a bit of chipped paint. If my mk7 had been parked there I don't think it would have got off that lightly.
