Thanks for the replies... looks like Crow Road it is then  Will just need to decide if I do it on a work day and get them to pick up and drop off or if I take it in on a day off and just wait for it. Probably the latter I think.

Taken my car to Crow Road for its last 2 services and never had any issues. Told them not to wash it which they agreed and was absolutely fine. Booked in for my 3rd service with them on Friday

The only problem about Crow Road is the parking. Its as tight as hell. Perfect conditions for getting a ding in the side.
Although in saying that I think they are all tight.

As for getting them to check the car Dave, make sure you take your time and check it before you go in to collect the keys.
That was my downfall. I got my service advisor and a tech to check my car when I dropped it off as I had previous damage. But when I went to collect it I went straight to the desk rather than closely inspecting my car. The advisor and myself checked it over and it appeared okay however when I got home I noticed the sill had a slight chunk out it as if the arms of the ramp had battered into it. I immediately phoned them but they denied it and I had no come back. They wouldn't even let me put the car on the ramp to see if the arms of the ramp married up with the damage.
Arnold Clark lying b@$tards.

No Craig. It was at Arnold Clark Merrylee.

I took the car to Crow Road when I first got my GTD as I had a bubble under the paint on the sill. Not a space to be had.
I refuse to park side by side unless its at the end of a row and its guaranteed to be at least a cars door width away.
I was sweating buckets as I had to squeeze in-between cars and run in to get the warranty manager for what I thought was a 10 minute appointment
An hour later and I was still waiting

Yeah it's quite a tight car park that's for sure and not the easiest to manoeuvre in. They do have more parking round the back and a bit more space. Not as bad as Glasgow Audi though, almost impossible to find a space in there

I found Glasgow Audi great as they parked the car for you as well as taking pictures as you pulled up so if there was any damage you had instant evidence.

Hopefully last question on this...

do you think it's better to get it serviced a bit early or a bit late. Trying to work out when to get it done with my days off. It's either got to be next week, when the mileage will be around 9700 or 3 weeks later when it will be around 10600, or does it really matter... obviously concerned for purposes of warranty. I know there is bound to be some give and take either side of the 10K but I don't know how much.

Probably going to risk it and take it to Wishaw VW as it's closest to home, and hopefully just wait for it whilst they do it. I know they'd pick it up and drop it off but I'd rather be there to allow a closer inspection before and after.

Given that timescale it will make absolutely no difference

If you have the choice and it's convenient I'd go for the service at 9700 rather than 10600 miles.

The notice of Servicing by the car or your own observation gives you plenty of advanced notice.

I know its not much difference overall in mileage but I'd prefer to be in the position of its been serviced on time, so to speak, rather the latter purely so VW cannot use this in any future 'goodwill' assessment / scenario that may or may not occur.
