How do I turn the soundaktor thingy off by the way?

You can't adjust the soundaktor level on the mib settings. At least I can't anyway on my new gti. I have however turned mine off completely with vcds.

Can't be adjusted via the CAR setup menus, but can be adjusted in driver profiles in Individual Mode only, under Interior Engine Sound - Sport, Normal or Eco = Loud, tolerable, quiet.

I found the steering to be too twitchy in Sport. The responses of a MINI JCW with the actual turning circle of a bus.

As for pedal response in Sport  :lipsrsealed:

Steering in Sport too twitchy for motorways but perfect for everything else.

Pedal response in Sport + pedal box in Sport with 2 green lights = perfect.

From what I've experienced so far, that equals a near disaster and a pair of soiled pants  Sport with no lights (considering the current conditions) has proved to be a good compromise of controllability, perkiness and pristine undercrackers

Lol, glad you're still here to tell the undercracker soiling tale!

GTI response probably differs slightly from R so maybe less agressive setting is more suited to GTI?

I will have a look into it later this morning. Most of my driving yesterday was in town but I'm not doing anything today so I will take it out for a good blast on normal roads. I'm looking forward to having the sport and sound pack on my car but that soundakotor thing is terrible. I don't have my vcds at the minute as it is with my cousin

I only have the car until next Tuesday and I don't want to fit anything to it to try as it is their car and brand new. It is nice to drive a smallish car again. Really looking forward to getting mine in March.

I shall experiment some more soon, just depends on the weather but certainly pleased with this gadget, a worthwhile addition. Will phone the insurers today and get it noted.

I manually disconnected mine.
It's a 5/10 minute job and is well worth the effort.

Had a good drive today and tonight and I have it in individual mode with everything in sport except for the soundokator and lights. The lights, it took me a good hour to figure out what it meant, it is quite effective on tight turns.

Really looking forward to getting the car now.

So all going well I should be fitting my pedal box come Wednesday and I think from past posts on this thread(and others) that the most popular setting is Sport + 1...Yes?

Thanks

I found sport+ on my GTI too aggressive so am currently on sport with the 1 green light. Also I found it takes a while to adjust to the new feel and reaction from the throttle. Now I'm acclimatised the standard pedal with the box off feels like something is broken  Settings may well be different with the GTD but I'd start low and build up.
