The weather has not been ideal for testing the pedalbox but I did adjust it this morning to sport with 1 green light. Was going very well until I exited a roundabout at 30 in 3rd, put my foot down very gently (no precipitation, +2.5C, road surface damp) and there was a distinct loss in traction causing a near miss in the trouser soiling department  Okay, slight exaggeration but at the next stop I switched the box off for safety

So, I think sport with 1 or 2 green lights is likely to be the long term setting but will have to be patient for the right testing conditions....

You do have to train yourself to be progressive with the pedal Watts.
Oh, and stop wearing ski boots when driving...

I picked up a GTD this morning from the dealers and bloody hell the throttle feels so dead as has been said above. When did VW start doing this with their cars, I'm guessing they have done it a across the brand?

I have the car for a week so maybe I will get used to it over the week but I think a peddle box is going to be a must.  I find the ride to be a little hard on the car without DCC but the car does have 19" wheels.

Another thing I noticed was that on a straight flat road the car wonders as though there is a dead area around the centre/dead ahead point. It was the same in my own car until I adjusted the electronic steering using VCDS and I was wondering if other noticed this. The car is a 66 plate with 1400 miles.

^ Make sure you have the driver's profile set to Sport. You'll find the steering feels more direct and the throttle pedal response will be livelier too.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

First thing I did was to put it in sport mode, after realising that I couldn't connect my phone to Bluetooth because the cubbyhole cover is the perfect size to turn an iPhone 7+ in a leather case off.

How do I turn the soundaktor thingy off by the way?

My car doesn't arrive until March but yes that is one of the things that I will definitely be getting along with a tuning box.

I found the steering to be too twitchy in Sport. The responses of a MINI JCW with the actual turning circle of a bus.

As for pedal response in Sport  :lipsrsealed:

I think on the later cars you can turn it off, or at least right down via the computer menu settings.
Otherwise it's a VCDS tweak or have a quick search on here as to how to unplug it as that's quite easy too.

The pedal box for the GTD is the same as the one for a GTI so if you got one just now its just a straight swap for your new car

You can't adjust the soundaktor level on the mib settings. At least I can't anyway on my new gti. I have however turned mine off completely with vcds.
