Anyone else tried the Pilot Sport 4. It looks like I may need a set when my new GTI arrives.

Not had experience with Ps4 but my 16 Gti came with pirelli P zeros on the 19 inch santis and tbh they have been spot on wet dry hot and cold just a great all rounder in my book

You must be in a sunnier part of Yorkshire than me!  P Zeros do not stand up to anything below 3C at all, and I don't rate their wet performance either.  Good tyres in warm, dry conditions though.

My 2014 GTD came complete with a set of the dreaded Bridgestones (inevitably).  Swapped these for a full set of Michelin PS3's at around 15k miles (yes I binned the rears early I was that sick of them).  PS3's were (predictably) a huge improvement in grip, ride, noise & feel.  Yes of course the softer Michelins wore down a bit quicker than the (hard as nails) Bridgestones.  Around 6m ago I swapped the worn PS3's on the front for a new pair of Pilot Sport 4's - and yes, they have lived up to expectation fully - great tyre.  That said, the PS4's were notably more expensive that the Conti 6's at the time I swapped and I was nearly tempted to go with them as they are also quality (and look OEM).

I changed the Bridgestones almost immediatly to PS4 on my new Clubsport. A very good tire, altough not really a big difference in noise (I guess I have high level of noise anyway from the roof spoiler on the CS).

Hi Jan
Did the PS4s make a noticeable difference to the car. I was going to change to PS4s wihen I got my Clubsport but it felt so much better than the GTI did on the standard Bridgestone so I have yet got round to changing yet but really interested to hear your view.

Hi Paul,

I changed the tyres after +/- 500 km. The main reason was to reduce the noise from the back, but that didn't really change to be honest, that was dissapointing.
For the normal driving, I don't experience a (big) difference with the Bridgestones. But I don't do track days or crazy driving or so.. So I guess the cornering is better, but I don't drive this car on the limit so I don't experience it..

Another reason why I changed them to PS4, is because I do very little KM with the car. It would take years before I have to replace them, and I didn't want to wait so long because I thought the noise issue would have been solved..

In the meantime, 2000 km later, I had to replace already 1 PS4 tyre becuase I drove a hole in it...

2 reasons why I am happy with the PS4's:
- everybody tells me it's the best tyre
- they look very nice with the Michelin logo

Anyone tried the PS 4S?
They are only just released. They do sound like an amazing tyre. I hope they are available in 18 inch by the time the new car arrives.
