New Wheels Available for Golf R On Configurator

I had a look at the VW website today and noticed a new 18" wheel option available on the Golf R and Golf GTI configurators called "Marseille".  You can spec these wheels for the price of £750. I personally am not keen on the look of the wheels and feel for £200 extra approx you could have either 19" Santiagos or Pretorias which in my opinion both look much nicer. 

What do you guys think?  :smiley:

On closer look they are similar to the bresicas on the Golf GTI Clubsport except without the inner diamond cut loop of each spoke near the centre.

Aren't those the GTE wheels?
It's probably a cock up and they're supposed to be R Line model optional wheels.
The usual post BW22 configurator mess up.

Not keen at all. Just posted these up in the R forum (VWROC) and so far not that popular.

Yes someone on VWROC has just had a courtesy GTE which had them. Could be a config mess up.

I am not to keen on the wheels. The pretorias on the R for me, and would stick to the austin's on the GTI

I've actually grown to like the cadiz over time and think the prets are great, these look like winter wheels

Must be a mistake, but if not they not going to sale many when for a little more you get Pretoria.

Wheels must be a huge profit maker for them though as they keep the Cadiz and get an extra £1000 for the Pretoria and there is no way that's a correct trade off but the Pretoria went from nice to have to must have in my head and so you pays the man for that peace of mind

Just checked again this morning, the wheels are still on the website.  I would give it until next week to see if it was a mistake for the wheels being available on the GTI and Golf R?

The week before last prets were an option on the GTD/GTI according to salesman I was talking to when I was in for a test of the new Tiguan. When we checked on the configurator they were gone. Obviously that was a glitch which I would think theses are as well.

Either way they are not the greatest looking wheel.

I am thinking the same, i cannot see why VW would offer such an odd looking wheel for the GTI or R?
