Microfibre cleaning
« on: 28 May 2016, 21:04 »
Hi,

I seem to be collecting a few microfibres after doing some detailing that could do with a good wash.

So just wondering what people use. I bought dedicated microfibre wash last time, but wondering if people are using non bio liquid products?

On Order - Mk 8.5 Clubsport Pure White, Queenstown, DCC.
MK 7.5 R Pure White, Pretoria Silver, DCC, Rear Camera.
Gone - MK 7 GTI Carbon Grey, Rear Camera, Service Pack.
Gone - MK 6 GTI  Reflex Silver, Monza Shadows, RCD 510, Rear Camera, Bluetooth, Tyre Pressure Sensor, Xenons Convenience pack, Service Pack :)
Gone - MK 5 GTI Reflex Silver, Monza II 18's, Luxury Pack, Mulitchanger

My recommendation is:-

30 degree wash
Small ammount of detergergent
NO FABRIC SOFTNER

Ours aren't colour fast so we recommend washing them separately for the first time. Thereafter, chuck them all in together.

Thanks

Neil

As above but 40°C wash, preferably non bio detergent, no fabric conditioner (it affects absorbency, tumble dry but no dryer sheets (again affects absorbency).  WoWo ones run at first but after a few washes they are fine. I have used bio detergent sometimes and no ill effects at all.

I've got 4 of the WoWo glass cloths.  3 are varying degrees of pink and 1 is white......but that's because it's still in the unopened packet.  Won't be long before it becomes it completes the pink quadruplets.

The glass cloth doesn't seem quite right somehow unless it's gone pink in the wash

This is worth a watch....Oh and just to add my two cents. Adding a cap full of white vinegar in the soften tray helps to keep the towels soft. No idea why but it does works.
