R specification enhanced from build week 22 :)

Have ordered winter pack on my Golf R which will be built after week 22 but given the £500 increase am not going to bother to contact dealer as I am not paying the £500 and basically getting the Sat Nav worth £795 free as did not option it

I would contact them, cancel Winter Pack and be charged an extra £120 for the pleasure so just going to let sleeping dogs lie 

The rear view camera has gone up to, its now £265. Pretty sure it was only £135 when I ordered and hence ordered it as cheap as chips

Yea that's very true I guess, I was happy with my deal so why try and change it and potentially upset someone in the process.

BTW, I just recieved my BW confirmed text today, WC 20 June, considering I only ordered 2 weeks ago I'd say that's quick. I'm glad I changed colour as quick as I did now... phew

App connect, Dynaudio and (possibly) leather.
That's on top of the current spec which includes keyless, Nav, rear camera, light assist...

Its hard to keep up with the Regional standard/options but they two premium additions that passed on as too costly to justify but cannot complain really as getting the Sat Nav chucked in now for free.

I have paid for keyless and the rear camera though.

Is there anything the Golf R in Ireland does not get that UK does? IE: Light clusters? etc, just to redress the balance and not make us too envious!

Given the R is top end some of these standards should have been anyway so its just redressing the balance really and you are left with the more premium options of Pretoria, DCC, Panoramic Roof, Leather

The one I would really like as standard in the R is the larger media screen but happy enough that the MIB 2 has increased in size and now has same resolution of its bigger brother as the standard MIB 1 unit resolution is poor.

The media, sat nav and driver aids should be standard but it seems commonsense is prevailing in VAG as the A3 has recently gained more standard options on latest face-lifts.

No! The Irish spec is miles ahead of UK spec but it is a relatively recent thing. For years and years we used to get the sh1tty end of the stick when it came to spec  - until things changed about 2 years ago.

Irish R's have all this above UK cars:
19" Cadiz (The prets are only 130 euro extra)
standard Nav
Keyless
Camera
light assist

And now as I said they're adding more again from bw22.

Why are we not all buying our cars in Ireland then and going on a day trip to collect? is the price the same or do you pay more? and would there be taxes etc for doing that which would wipe out any benefit?

Not too bothered about the smaller options but standard leather and dynaudio is something to cast the green eye at as they are not cheap options by any means. And with small uplift to Pretoria you are really being spoilt!

Fully agree, I have forked out £900+ for the luxury of having Pretorias.  I would have originally liked 19" Cadiz but is not an option in the UK and these are standard in Ireland.  Just who is choosing and deciding on the options for VW UK?
