The door sills light as standard......

The GTI has red LED illuminated metal kickplates on the front door sills as standard, which match the LED inserts below the windows.  I was a bit slow cancelling my finance and had to pay £25 interest (but still saved myself thousands in the long term).  If you don't have the cash upfront, a money transfer credit card is one of the cheapest methods followed by a low interest loan (both miles cheaper than dealer finance)

Plus the white lines in the pictures linked to will be red for a GTI. The pictures show a GTD which are white. All very confusing

The brushed metal one set in the plastic are standard and light up.
The one with the R on it and the one at the outside edge after after market protectors.

Absolutely.  A decent dealer will even explain this to you.  I checked on here and at the dealership before I did it.

My dealer actually advised me to do this when I told him I was a cash buyer.

Thanks for that, never done Finance before so its all new to me. Not sure if it would wind the dealer up, but seems it is all fine which is great.
