New Mk7 GTD owner
« on: 06 May 2016, 09:04 »
Hello all

Back in a VW after a few years away- when the missus lets me near it!

Mk7 GTD in Tornado Red with a DTUK tweak. Very impressed so far!

Have owned several hot VW's in the past. Started out with an 8v mk2 GTi- later modded to 2L with big valve head & Schrick cam. Moved onto a throttle bodied mk2 2L 16v before a Jetta GTi (2L 16v), Integra R, another Mk2 16v Golf (2L)- can you see a theme?

Now drive a mildly tweaked Accord R as my daily & have a stripped BB1 Prelude VTEC as my track toy....

The mk7 has reinvigorated my VW interest after I became very disenchanted with the whole Club GTi scene. Maybe I need another mk2?

Site looks good with lots of info

Cheers

Chris

That looks the mutts nuts, though is there not room for a proper filter for all the trumpets? I had to have socks on my old Ford engined shuvit but they're not I'd, they slow down the air as they have such a small surface area and create extra turbulence being so close to the trumpet the air can't settle down in the short distance, looks amazing though
Suffering from a severe and unforgiving case of GTItis

It was a beast- Just shy of 200bhp running a stock 9A block running to 7800rpm

The DTH ITBs combined with the longest (good for torque) air horns didn't give a favourable angle to allow a big foam filter to be fitted.

The individual socks seemed to work tbh
