Body Work Repair
« on: 05 May 2016, 12:22 »
Hi everyone,

The rear passengers side arch is not looking too great on my Golf.. The plastic trim can longer sit in place because the arch has decayed quite a bit.

On my previous VW I had a gaping hole near the arch which I did a pretty neat job of repairing using filler, chicken wire and a fresh re-spray, but this issue is inside the arch.

Any advice on how to tackle this?

Thanks,

Get the trim off to have a proper look. Repair sections are easy to get hold of. Unless you are very confident with a welder, leave it to the pros. Trust me, it's not worth the hassle doing it yourself

Then it will need painting of course, although finish doesn't matter too much as the trim will cover it.
It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.
