Best GTI Front Brake Pads
« on: 14 April 2016, 15:20 »
Hi guys, I need to replace my front brake pads soon.

I was looking at the EBC Redstuff pads (car is stage 2 tuned). I mentioned it to my local independent garage and they recommended Tarox pads. They are a little more expensive and don't come with the wear sensor.

What do you guys think? Should I just stick with OEM..? Right food is a little heavy!

Thanks

Ive had redstuff. Excellent.
Neverhad tarox so cant comment.

Depends on how your brakes feel after a session of spirited driving and use of the brakes

Ferodo is my first port of call when buying brake pads. After fitting ds2500 in the clio 197 I had before the golf, the brakes went from good to almost cartoon like. The car just stopped, but they were progressive too.

My dad races his kit car in the 750 motor club and he uses ferodo, he has used ebc before but thought ferodo were better.

Depends on the car i suppose maybe the kit car (less than 600kg) couldn't get ebc up to temperature.
