Best Golf R colour

Lapiz Blue.  Not only does it look amazing, but its the only exclusive R colour - and given the R's stealth like looks, it's the only colour that stands out at a glance 

This, probably because that's the colour of mine.

Although had I seen Rebecca's before I ordered mine, then I might have been persuaded to consider DPB

Colours I see most are Lapiz, TR and White.  My favourite colours for the R are Reflex Silver and LSG.  And I'm not normally a fan of silvers on Golfs but these two just seem to work on the R in particular.  Oh, and DBP's not bad either.

We have just ordered a 3dr R in Reflex Silver 

 I had a 3dr MK5 GT Sport in RS and it always looked great and was very easy to look after so it has swayed the decision. White was never an option Due to the previous GTi.

I think VW have got it right on this occasion - Lapiz signature for the R (though personally not my favourite as not big on blue cars); and Carbon Grey for the GTI/GTD.  As said, Lapiz and the red stripe and accents not a good combination and quite a way down the road to tackyville.  And with red footwells....   Carbon Grey and red made for each other but works equally (if not better) well with silver accents, which means it would also work well on the R, but I can understand the logic of not offering it for the R. 

Now I've always loved Carbon Grey, but (DBP aside), if I was to choose another colour for an R, even if CG was available on the R, I would pick LSG or RS.

You'd get away with either colour because you keep them superbly. Not sure how appealing a dirty,dull LSG would be.
The one I saw in the dealers showroom when I collected mine was stunning to be fair.

Why thank you.  But I'm sure a dull and dirty LSG is no less appealing than a dull and dirty DBP.  But with LSG as with black, all is forgiven for the few hours it's clean.  LSG is stunning when well looked after.

Are you sure?  Have you not seen the filthy 'before' pics of mine....it ain't a pretty site. 

Let's face it we all have our favourites but one thing applies to every colour.......they all scrub up (not literally ) well.

RS is an inspired choice for the Mk7 R.  I think it suits the R most out of all the performance Golfs, works so well with the grill and black accents and the sharp lines serve to make a colour which can easily look ordinary, instead look very special indeed.  And in 3dr with 90% tint guise.....   Great choice Raffe.

Raffe - How long did you get quoted for delivery?

12-13 weeks by the dealer so it should be with us early July, will be interesting to see when it does turn up.

We have gone light on the spec with only the 90% tints and Car Net App, not sure if that has any bearing on build time.
