Can you use Sonax BSD under dodojuice?

I have searched the forum and i think i might have google blindness 

I thought I read somewhere that you use Sonax bsd as a sealer then wax over it, so i went and bought a bottle! and now i cant for the life of me find anywhere that says so, in fact i found some that say the opposite!

I have a pearl black MK7 GTD and wanted something that would help hide any marks etc and then i was going to use the dodo juice on top to increase the depth and shine.

Any help would be appreciated

You can do anything you want, there are no hard and fast rules. 

However using wax on top of a polymer based sealant (Sonax BSD) or nano based sealant (Gtechniq C2v3) may reduce the longevity and performance of the wax.  Wax is organic based and does not bond properly with polymer and nano sealants so I can't see it lasting too long on top of the BSD.  But there's only one way to find out, and as you've bought it you might as well try. Of course you can also try it over wax, but again might not bond too well. 

If you prefer the finish of a wax and have some swirls and marks to hide, then you can't do much better than apply one or two coats of Poorboys Black Hole glaze, under your DoDo wax.

It's brilliant stuff, which contains fillers that mask and hide light swirls and scratches, and it really does work.  Gives great shine too.  Then top it off with your wax, to get that extra depth that Deep Black Pearl really benefits from, and that DoDo Juice wax is so good at.

I think you should try it, even if only one 1 panel with some wax on top. BSD gets great reviews and I think i's probably better than C2v3. That's what I'll be doing in a few weeks. I'm planning a sealant test of various polymer/nano sealants and BSD is in my detailing cupboard just waiting to go on, once I've found time to do a full decontamination and polish detail in readiness.  I'm gong to stick some wax on top it on one of the panels just to see how it fares.

Will do a thread on the test.  Just need to find a spare couple days without work, family and other commitments to do the deed. Easier said than done unfortunately.  Need more days in the week!

The Sonax bsd turned up today and I though what the hell I'll give it a go, so I washed then dried tha car and applied away :-)

I did notice some smearing but a bit of elbow grease gets rid of it I'll have to wait now to see what it's like in the rain and as I'm in Wales that won't be long :lol:

I think it will be a good quick fix bottle for the car as it seems to leave a nice glassy finish

Worth a shot.  It's the 'glassy' finish of these types of sealants that put me off.    In the past I've found similar products to be too glassy and clinical looking on black, lacking the depth of colour and gloss a good high content carnauba or good hybrid wax can give.

I have ordered some of the poorboys black hole, so once summer is here properly I will try that with the dodo juice wax to see which I prefer
