Ive just installed these deadset collars & ARP bolts, along with my new steering rack. Have absolutely transformed the car, and solves the dreaded subframe movement issue. Price seems steep, but they are well made and make a huge difference to how the car drives. Gear changes are much smoother, and the car holds the road really well.

Are you sure its not simply the plastic CV boots ribs sticking together and making a sloop noise as they come apart. It happens with most plastic CV boots. Normally happens when the weathers abit damp and turning at slow speed.

my scirocco steering makes a light clink noise or clunk when I lock it more than say 1 turn, is this subframe knock? or just my steering rack gone?

mine clunks like that aswell...and sometimes when i rapidly accelerate and then start to break i can hear clicks and feel the subframe moving from underneath? Or is that just coz of engine movement?
