Indeed - also disappointed to find no additional info today. Come on VW - I need some info! 180hp petrol dsg in SEL or R Line trim for me (depending on prices and stuff of course)....

Yay....5th April
Boooo...no change to the "coming soon" on VWs website...

If you go to the VW site and browse all new cars - to get the icons for every model - then select new Tiguan you can now get the main information. Suffice to say it is quite pricey - base car more than £25k, by the time I had added some spec to a petrol R Line with DSG, I was shading £40k, and £38k for an SEL.

Will have to be very good at those prices - that's Discovery Sport with an OK spec (diesel though!) or well specced X1 with similar power.

Thanks - nicely hidden :)

Waiting lease prices now to get an idea

Personal buy for me and I try and avoid leases (lack of flexibility if circumstances change) or PCP (interest on balloon and negative equity) where possible - but I suspect at those prices with little discount early on I will either be passing or waiting.

Land Rover wont give me more then 4% off a Disco Sport and want an APR of 6.9% on finance, so that's looking pretty pricey when the car comes out at £45k

You can get a pre reg X3 2.0d M sport with a reasonable spec for less than £35k.... maybe I go that way instead....

Picking a new car should be a joy but its all incredibly hard work - has to be dog friendly, soon to be born grandchild and buggy friendly, one my 24 year old can be insured on (so I can borrow her Mini for the station run and such), comfortable, refined, good quality......

42% residual, I suppose that's not too bad, but that's what is basically making up the lease cost.

If you want a better value lease deal on a Chelsea tractor:

Just been on Drive The Deal website to see what they're offering discount wise.

Tiguan SEL DSG 4Motion 2.0L TDI 150ps (10.4% discount)
Tiguan R-Line DSG 4Motion 2.0L TDI 150ps (10.5% discount)

Not too shabby a discount considering order books only opened yesterday.

However, on the whole I have to say it's looking very costly this new Tiguan. As I suspected VW continue to creep their prices higher than inflation and wage rises. They're getting too close to Audi territory for my liking. I've been buying VW's for years and I have to say they're changing as a brand and moving too upmarket. They want to mix it with Mec, BMW and Audi.  Skoda are what VW were 10 years ago price wise.

That'll explain why I could get a q5 for £355 with 10% down. Hopefully when lease companies get their hands on it, the news will be better

6.5% APR isnt helping either - plus no support currently.

I'll wait 3 months and see how all of those change or fund from another source (3.3% apr up to 15k from my bank looking promising)

thought i'd see if any dealer was offering a discount via carwow yet...3 down, no discounts.

Hardly surprising I guess but i had hoped

Try Drive The Deal (DTD). 10.5% discounts to be had. See my post above

I see from the price brochure their must be a 190 TDI and a 240PS BITDI coming  at some point.
No doubt there will be much change from 40k!

I also see that you have to run the diesels with AdBlue also, and of course they recommend you only buy that from VW. Yet another additional running cost.

A golf R is looking more attractive!

how much is AdBlue ? £1.50 a litre ? 12 litres last 3500 miles or so ? I've never had AdBlue so am unsure

@GerryD - got an email today saying Golf R DSG wagon for £179.99 + £2400 deposit, 24 months, 10k pa

My old A6 3.0 diesel was using ad blue at the rate of about 15 lites per 7000 miles. I was buying it pretty cheap (brother in trade) so it was £20 each time....

Those R prices look more attractive. Have found well specced stock cars on Auto Trader at £34k which is also attractive v Tiguan but I may struggle with insurance for my 24 year old daughter on an R!

Ad blue is about 70p per litre from the pump or you can buy 10 litres from tps for 12 quid. How long it lasts is entirely down to your driving style and habits. I got 4k miles from new out of my adblue but that's been mainly shortish journeys.
