Question about Golf R styling and extras
« on: 10 March 2016, 19:44 »
So my GTD leaves me in September and I'm looking at Leasing a Golf R in metallic Black

Whats your opinion looks wise with the R having Chrome wing mirrors on a black car and would you or did you buy the exterior mirrors in carbon fibre to complete the black look? £450 is a lot just for aesthetics I know

Or anything you must have or wouldn't have based on my probable spec below?

My spec would be:
5 door manual
Deep Black
Keyless
Rear view camera
DCC
19" Pretoria wheels
Tinted 90% glass

Thanks all
Current(2024): MK8 Golf R, Pure White, RV Camera & 19" Estoril Diamond Cut

I'd give the 90% tints a miss for a start.

Why don't you like the tints? I think they look great.

The 95% tints are just too dark. One thing to remember about the really dark tints are that it doesn't let the auto dimming rear view mirror to work right so the side mirror doesn't dim enough or at all.

I hated the extra tint on the Ed35 for this reason and also the the show up any minute scratch

I had a set of primed mirror caps wrapped

I think they look tacky as hell but if you like the drug dealer look, go for it

The tint option is mainly for the kids when they're in the back so its for practical reasons rather than looks
