7 Speed DSG DQ200 1.4tsi 122 Judders, 1st 2nd, terrible...

Hi,

I've just purchased an audi 2010 A3 1.4 122 this comes with the 7 speed box which I thought would be like my 6 speed dsg, but after the test drive which was faster routes, it behaved fine, after buying it, its very juddery and picks up the clutch badly.

It's had its dsg Recall done, and 500 miles ago a new mechatronics unit was fitted for 1.2k...
Maybe they didn't use the correct oil?

The car is fine to drive when you're on it, fast launches are fine, just low speed traffic crawling is horrendous with lots of judder and missed changes and juddering when downshifting from 2nd to 1st.

I've heard VW have made a new clutch pack and is updated, as I doubt its the mechatronics unit, any ideas on where I can get one of these from? there's also a LUK repset dct thing which is also a clutch pack for the 7speed dsg DQ200?

I'm also interested in remapping, as this juddering and roughness doesnt happen when throttle is half way, as it changes up and launches much harder and is much smoother? maybe the way the clutches engage can be mapped? no idea tbh

When a new mech-tronic box goes in, it does take a while to adjust to your driving style, but over 1000 miles should be fine.

So the first step i would do it go to the dealer or someone in your area with VAG_COM and perform a DSG reset, which rests all the driving patterns of the box and often fixes lurching issues and juddering.

But yes, many companies like REVO etc can perform DSG / S-tronic remaps which changes the bite, speed and timing of the box.

it was done literally before I bought the car.
I have used car warranty for 3 months, but as we know these are worth the paper they're written on. It was sold by a small car garage called stoneleigh car company.

From my research I've concluded that my issue is not mechatronics related as on these 7 speeders, they suffer a neutral  problem, where without warning they lose drive.

Mine is only on uptake of power, and downshifting/upshifting between 1/2, 3/4/5/6/7 are all silky smooth.

So I need a new clutch pack, VW have replaced thousands of these, at some serious cost. I've found the newly developed and uprated clutch pack from LUK. which I've found for a good price.

would just need a garage to change this with the special DSG clutch removal tools probably £200+ on labour!

Sorry, forgot to say, Already had the dsg reset done, it did reduce the clutch slip feeling in second by like 60-70% so was impressed with this! but judder is another story

Weird site that, very strange English at times! Guess you have to send the old one back to Germany at your expense to get that extra 40 quid back too?

You have 6 months from the point of purchase; don't believe the warranty sh!te garages give you. You are covered by the Sales Of Goods Act

I'll try give the warranty people a call, Seems like the best point of contact to begin with. I've messaged a local garage with the special tools to remove the dual clutch assembly.

If warranty says no, I'll go back to the garage, hopefully they can sort it if warranty fails!

Might also Change the Dual mass flywheel whilst the gearbox is off, seems to make sense especially since I plan ongiving it some Stage 2 map action and a DSG remap from custom code.
