Golf Mk 3 Idle Problem
« on: 10 February 2016, 08:31 »
Hey guys and gals,

I've had my Mk 3 for about 18 months now and she's always had little niggles. The worsthing has always been the engine not catching itself when I come out of gear, it will suddenly drop a couple of thousand on the Rev counter, not always catching itself and stalling. I've learnt how to drive with this issue though, but it's grown into a bigger problem in the last day or so.
Simply put, the engine will not keep ticking over unless I am pressing the accelerator. Every time I come to a stop now the engine will cut out, as if there is no idle speed at all.
I had the Throttle Body cleaned out about a year ago, so I don't think it's that, and I'm worried that it may be something that spells an end to my beautiful Golf.
Any ideas at all? It needs to be financially viable, I can't keep pumping money into her, as much as I want to.
